The Teaching Team of the Course Appreciation of Longquan Sword Craftsmanship Conducts External Research Activities

To thoroughly implement the spirit of the notice "Implementation Plan (2024-2029) for Establishing Colleges and Universities '1+1' Connection and Empowerment for the High-Level Inheritance and High-Quality Development of Historical Classic Industries" issued by the General Office of the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, recently, Pan Yufeng, Party Secretary of our college, led a team of teachers to Longquan City, Zhejiang Province, to carry out teaching research activities for the school-based core general education course *Appreciation of Longquan Sword Craftsmanship* of Lishui University, which centers on Longquan sword and knife culture.

Chen Ying, Vice President of Longquan Celadon and Sword Technician College, received the teacher team of our college and led everyone to visit the Modern Sword Processing Industry College of the school. Inside the Industry College, advanced sword and knife manufacturing equipment is available in full range. Under the guidance of professional teachers, students skillfully performed craft operations such as sword forging, grinding and quenching, demonstrating exquisite craftsmanship. Subsequently, the two sides held a forum to conduct in-depth discussions on the talent training program for Longquan sword design.

Jiang's Swords and Knives is famous both inside and outside the province for its exquisite casting craftsmanship and profound cultural heritage, and is one of the representative enterprises in the sword and knife industry of Longquan City. Under the leadership of General Manager Jiang Xiaowu, everyone visited the sword casting, forging, quenching workshops and finished product exhibition areas, and learned in depth about the development history of Jiang's Sword and Knife Group through discussions.

The teacher team also visited Zheng Guorong, President of the Longquan Sword Industry Association. Zheng Guorong elaborated on the historical origin, material selection, casting technology, quality control and market sales of Longquan swords, emphasizing that while inheriting traditional craftsmanship, Longquan swords and knives need continuous innovation to meet the demands of the modern market.

This research activity is an important measure taken by our college to promote the in-depth integration of traditional culture and modern education. Through on-site research, the teacher team has not only gained a deeper understanding of the cultural connotation and technological process of Longquan swords and knives, but also laid a solid foundation for the offering of the school-based core general education course *Appreciation of Longquan Sword Craftsmanship*.
