A majestic treasured sword of antique style - Black Gold

Among the world-famous swords and sabers, there are always a few renowned blades that leave a deep impression—such as Japan’s Cursed Blade Muramasa, and the Tucheng Heijin (Slaughter City Black Gold) steeped in malevolent aura. Both of these world-famous blades boast shocking and unique backstories.

Today, we’ll talk about the Heijin Ancient Blade and the "Tucheng Heijin".

According to legend, the Heijin Ancient Blade is based on the Tucheng Heijin. In the early Yuan Dynasty, a Yuan Dynasty general wielded this blade during his western expedition. When he besieged a city on the European border, he encountered stubborn resistance from the Europeans. After three days and nights of intense assault, he finally captured the city. The general then ordered all the children in the city to be rounded up, and in front of their parents, he used this blade to behead them one by one as a warning. Since then, this blade has become synonymous with a "cursed blade".

Today, the swordsmiths of Jiang’s Sword Workshop in Longquan City, Zhejiang Province, have recreated this blade. After researching historical records and out of respect for the original, they crafted this Heijin Ancient Blade.

True to the spirit of "growing stronger in the face of strength", this once-famous cursed blade—through the meticulous craftsmanship of the swordsmiths—has now been transformed into a powerful "house-protecting cursed blade". When unsheathed, it exudes overwhelming aura; when sheathed, it embodies simplicity and grandeur. It is indeed an excellent choice for safeguarding one’s home.

The blade is forged from pattern-welded steel, folded and hammered over 6,000 layers. Repeated heating and forging eliminate impurities in the steel, ensuring uniform composition, dense structure, refined grain, and enhanced steel performance. Combined with the traditional fuchi yaki (clay-tempering) technique, the blade spine and blade body maintain an optimal balance of toughness and hardness, maximizing overall performance.

The blade edge is crafted using the ancient fuchi yaki process, undergoing repeated forging, annealing, quenching, tempering, and polishing. This results in a blade that unites rigidity and flexibility, with natural patterns forming on its surface.

After fuchi yaki treatment, both the blade body and spine maintain excellent stability—it can cut through iron wire without damaging the edge. Paired with a high-grade ebony scabbard, the blade exudes a retro and majestic charm, making it an ideal piece for collection and appreciation.

The fittings are made of brass with hand-carved reliefs and an aged finish. The patterns on them combine various traditional motifs, including gold and silver patterns, cloud patterns, karakusa (arabesque) patterns, transformed symbols, and meander patterns. These fittings hold great cultural and collectible value, and are believed to ward off evil and protect the home.

The blade features a smooth, streamlined design that flows like clouds and water. A blood groove is cut into the middle of the blade, and after 14 manual polishing processes, the forged patterns are clearly visible—resembling the ripples of dragon algae and rainbow waves, exuding extraordinary elegance and formidable aura.

The entire blade is straight and upright, embodying resolve and courage. Clad in an all-black finish, it exudes calmness and grandeur; the aged brass fittings add a touch of antiquity without compromising its dignity. The hilt is wrapped in hand-wound cord, with an integrated tang (full tang) and brass rivets, ensuring a comfortable grip and an excellent holding experience.

The guard, blade clip, and scabbard mouth fittings are all made of solid copper, carved with various patterns—their exquisiteness adding an air of mystery.

Ebony is known as one of the world’s rare and precious woods. It has a fine, hard, and warm texture; after polishing, its cross-section develops a patina that shimmers like satin, with interlaced grains and a rich luster. This Heijin Ancient Blade uses premium ebony to craft its scabbard.

This blade has an overall length of 108 cm, a blade length of 77 cm, a blade width of 3.8 cm, a blade thickness of 0.6 cm, and a total weight of 2.3 kg. Its length is ideal for two-handed grip, exuding overwhelming majesty.
